A Few Selected Poems From My Book

So much bustle and energy in the street below
Trying to seep in through my window
While I struggle to open my eyes —
The sandman, old and wise
Has done his job well
From what I can tell
Though my alarm insists I wake
I silence it with a slap and shake
And drift back into that sleepy dream zone —
A wondrous, mystical place to roam,
Where nothing is real
And everything’s real
